Getting Reacquainted

We’ve been around for a minute and most importantly survived 2025! 😫😵😵💫🤢.
We are deeply grateful. So... what did we learn.
That things we’ve always loved and are drawn to are still the same … we look for them everywhere, they are our lenses they form part of our perception.
These things are, history, a sense of collective cultural memory, an obsession with reinterpreting ethnic dress codes, care, details, nature, plants, flowers, their stages of growth, emergence, rising, blooming, stagnancy, retreat, death, eventual re-emergence ..an infinite constant cycle. Hope, Life itself, deep empathy for others and ourselves too ( in a year where making clothes has felt pretty useless & impotent). Music to both soothe and energise. All these influences come through in the textiles we use, how we are obsessed with fabric manipulation (pleats! Yes guilty) weaving, volume, tassels, pieces are never just one thing there is almost always a tension, a duality.
All these things are present in every piece we’ve touched and made throughout our few years around.
Evidence I suppose to the love, obsession and just sheer joy and surprise to turn a 2 dimensional surface textile into a thing that can be embodied, a garment that can have so much feeling and the ability to make you feel so good about yourself ( if clothes do that for you) for us this is the magic!
I started making my own clothes at 12 yrs old and that feeling of “creating” something so purposeful that comes to life the moment you put it on! That lights you up, makes you feel something. That’s pretty magical & that feeling has never left.
I still believe in magic.
